Casa San Pietro is a rare thing in Venice: a whole house on the water, four storeys of it, in the quiet residential sestiere of Castello. Terrazzo floors, Murano chandeliers and tall arched windows over the canal give the salons their grandeur; six bedrooms and nine bathrooms sleep twelve in comfort. Outside, a private wooden deck runs along the water with a small pool, a mooring for a water taxi and space to sit and watch the boats go by. St Mark's is a twenty-minute walk.
