The villa

Even if the Mediterranean and Provence are viscerally linked to color, the art of living in the South also knows how to play the card of discretion. With its natural tones, an air of softness envelops the house, beyond the trendy décor. Here, the owners wanted to interpret the past of this place in a contemporary way, but without distorting it. Between the walls, what holds the attention is undoubtedly the spirit of the place where the generous welcome undoubtedly predominates with comfort, modernity, volumes, top-of-the-range services, neat, warm decoration and imprint of charm in the rooms with it’s beautifully restored wooden ceilings and stone walls. Here one can imagine an art of living where simple pleasure, combined with comfort, dominates. On the ground floor via an entrance hall there is a large living room with sofas and TV and open stone fireplace l eading to the open plan large fitted kitchen with an island with all modern appliances with dining area, large windows opening to the garden.  There is a n additional living area with floor to ceiling windows with mezzanine level with sofa bar, foosball table & TV and the mezzanine level accessed via a spiral staircase TV, video games and billiards table. Adjacent there is a wellness area with 6-seater Jacuzzi and also an independent room with barbecue area adjoining the relaxation room.  There is also a c ellar/laundry room and g uests cloakroom water closet with washbasin. On the first floor there are three bedrooms  & bathrooms. Bedroom suite 1 "La suite du Papé", facing south has a Queen size bed and TV with shower room and separate WC. Bedroom suite 2 has two Queen size beds, TV, and shower room and separate WC. Bedroom suite 3 has a Queen size bed, TV, and shower room with separate WC. They all have ample dressing space, wardrobe & storage. On the second floor are two bedrooms & a dormitory.  Bedroom Suite 4 has a Queen size bed, TV, and shower room and separate WC. Bedroom suite 5 has a Queen size bed, TV, and shower room and separate WC. The children's dormitory has five single beds and a surveillance camera.  There is an i ndependent bathroom with long basin and double walk-in shower, storage, and s eparate WC. Outside there is enough areas to enjoy an outdoor life that has become so precious! This solar property can be discovered in a bucolic setting. The farmhouse is revealed behind a huge centuries-old plane tree which offers it a benevolent shade during the hottest hours of summer. Under this generous protection unfolds the long south-facing terrace onto which the farmhouse opens. On the eastern side, a beautiful building, twinned with the farmhouse, is totally out of sight, thanks to its high walls, and very appropriate vegetation. An idyllic haven, the space is reserved for relaxation and sharing is furnished with as much care as the interior of the house. The swimming pool enjoys a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. It's 11 m long x 5 m wide are underlined by a beach in and bordered on the north side by a lawned area on which comfortable deckchairs are installed. A few steps below is a "Pagnolesque" petanque ground to play beautiful games of boules. The local village you can find all you need (fresh fruit and vegetables, meat from the local farms, delicious breads, and even your usual newspaper) in the two villages of Boulbon or Barbentane, less than 6 minutes by car. The local village of Barbentane has a picturesque old center with pretty cafes and restaurants, a boulangerie and grocery shop. Also you can visit Château de Barbentane, the "Trianon of Provence" with rare eighteenth century furniture. To the south is the lively village of St Rémy de Provence, a charming classical little town, capital of the Alpilles with amenities, boulangeries, little boutiques, quaint pavement cafes and excellent restaurants, and on its winding cobbled lanes you will discover the small squares, historic buildings, churches and museums.  On Wednesday the colorful weekly market will offer the opportunity to discover local products and handicrafts which is a must to see. Further south Les Baux de Provence is considered 'one of the most beautiful villages in France. Arles, Nîmes, Pont du Gard and Uzès and other towns you can easily visit in a day, and at less than 45 minutes to the east is the Luberon region and further south is Camargue’s unique wetland populated by pink flamingos and wild horses. Avignon to the north with its UNESCO world heritage site, with it’s magnificent Palais du Papes, which is one of the architectural wonders of France, just 12 kilometers away and would make an ideal day trip. Just north of Avignon is the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region for wine lovers as well.
