The location : the house is close to Cascais, plenty of restaurants, golf course etc... this was first class.
The layout of the villa was excellent and having the annexe building allowed for extra space for our children.
Pool table added some fun!
Villanovo seems to have a good range of villas and the process was smooth (including payment etc).
Overall, we had a great stay but for a "luxury" villa - there were a few things that could be improved - see below.
3 of the bedrooms didn't have air conditioning.
For a villa accommodating 10 persons, there was only one parasole and 4 sun loungers around the pool - we had to buy a couple of additional parasoles and matresses for our stay. The outdoor furniture around the fire-pit was not in good condition.
The dishwasher was difficult to use.
There was a significant new residential development underway next door which meant that each morning we had work starting before 8am and the access road up to the villa was difficult to navigate.

The proximity of the villa to the sea was great and walking distance to the Casa Da Guia area.
The villa owner, Diogo, was very friendly and tried his best to resolve all our problems. The single floor layout of the villa was very handy. We love the indoor and outdoor fire and blessing of the central heating as it was freezing when we arrived!
Chef Service: Leon and his assistant chef and Joana in the office were brilliant once we overcome the initially date mixed up (please see my comments below about how I think the communication could have been improved).
Whilst the property was lovely, the quality of our stay was not as we expected. The heating to the swimming pool we paid for didn’t work so pool hardly used (we will need a refund for that). We were not aware that the villa was surrounded by 2 major building sites so it was not particularly quiet and relaxing sitting outside during the day and it was rather dusty. We had two water cuts during our 7 nights stay: one which lasted for most of the day and another whilst the chef was trying to prepare dinner!
There was a misunderstanding on the chef service for the first day which could have been avoided if the dates were reconfirmed by the chef service and the concierge instead of just forwardi

The Location of the house is excelent. The garden is beautiful and the outside space very nice. The master suite is very good and the house is very well equiped.
The maid - Vanda is a treassure and very professional.
The house is very welcoming and beautifully decorated.
There was no one from Villanovo to welcome us.
What we see on the website is not what we actually rented: the 2 bedroons that in the website has 2 twin beds, in the house are queen beds.
There was suposed to have AC in the master but whem we arrived it did not. They arranged to install later wich was a good thing.
The house need a litlle mantainance in the pool ( the tile a falling) the wood floor around the pool also need some work.

Magnifique maison facile à vivre très agréable
