The swimming pool, the rooms and the garden. It is a beautiful house. Villanovo was excellent
The villa
Villa Mélo Ré is absolutely quiet, lulled by the birdsong. It is a typical house of Ile de Ré, bright and comfortable. You will appreciate its equipment, the large living spaces and the decor. There is a terrace and plancha in the center of a large enclosed garden. This is a 300 m2 house (14 people) composed of an entrance, bright living room with double kitchen semi-open to the dining room, living room with fireplace and 1 separate TV/reading room. Bedrooms Room 1 Room, Pool level, direct access to the pool. This bedroom has 1 double bed 160 cm. Bathroom ensuite, with 2 washbasins, shower. WC in the bathroom. This bedroom includes also TV. Room 2 Room, direct access to the garden. The bedroom has 4 Beds including 2 single bed 90 cm, 2 double bed 140 cm. Bathroom ensuite, with shower. WC in the bathroom. Room 3 Room, Terrace level, in another building.

Location was excellent for the town and daily market ( we hired bikes for four days and were able to reach most of the Island easily). The Island its self is beautiful. Overall the house was very stylish and well designed and roomy and bright. There were great communal areas and the pool was a perfect temperature (a special mention to the pool man, who was very kind and helpful). The gardens were very secluded also very nicely kept. The BBQ area was also very good.
We experienced poor communication and confusion over the additional cost of Linen. It was frustrating as it was not clear from the website. The 3,000 Euro charge for security deposit was excessive and I personally lost money due to bank charges and foreign exchange on refund. The additional cleaning charge was also excessive.
