The villa
Carefully renovated and modernised, Angoixes sits in rural surroundings near weekly markets selling fresh produce for the barbecue. Arranged like a small village around a century-old pine and ornamental pond, the estate includes a main house, casita, long pool with a sun terrace and spotlight, outdoor kitchen, outdoor bathroom, dining area and water reservoir. Olive and fig trees, palms and citrus groves lend Mediterranean charm. There is plenty of space to play, cooling breezes from nearby woodland and lovely views of wooded hills. Beyond the main house’s thick oak door, an elegant living and dining room seats everyone, with a mainly decorative fireplace. A large double bedroom opens onto the garden. The rustic kitchen has an electric cooker and dishwasher. Solid beds and antiques furnish five bedrooms, two downstairs and three upstairs; one opens onto the panoramic roof terrace. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, almost all en suite, with more bathtubs than showers.
