The villa

Set down a quiet residential lane in Les Pèlerins, this detached chalet sleeps 10 in five bedrooms and has a listed plot of 130 m². Chamonix is a brisk 15-minute walk away; nearby apartment blocks form part of this popular neighbourhood. A bakery and small supermarket are 600 m away, a larger supermarket is five minutes by car, and Chamonix Sud bus station is 1 km away. A car is useful for exploring the valley. Traditional wooden interiors include an open-plan kitchen, a cosy sitting area with a wood-burning stove and a dining table seating eight. Windows and the porch frame views towards the Aiguille du Midi and Le Tour. The king-size master bedroom in the eaves has its own staircase and en-suite bathroom. On the lower ground floor, a quad bunk room sits beside a snug with a teepee and beanbag, plus a double bedroom. Access is via a ladder staircase suited to older children and agile adults; ground-floor bedrooms or the master bedroom are more suitable for less mobile guests. There are three bathrooms in total.
